Desert Brights

“Desert Brights” was the theme and inspiration for my birthday vacation looks. This was a compilation of natural colors to be found in the desert mixed with bright colors. The bright color palette was important to me as it signified the optimistic occasion.

The Red Rock Mountains in Sedona was truly breathtaking. They served as the perfect backdrop throughout my vacation. When planning my trip, I ensured my outfit was able to compliment the natural charm of the mountains. While in Sedona, we visited Tii Gavo for lunch and the view was unbelievable. My outfit for lunch featured a light khaki cropped trench jacket with self tie belt and a green multi tiered skirt paired with taupe suede heeled boots. This cropped jacket was a great neutral color and I had to ensure that I didn’t go too dull on the bottom. So, I opted for this green satin multi tiered skirt to provide color and bring a more feminine touch to the look. The suede boots were just right for the Fall season and helped to keep me warm.

Antelope Canyon was so magnificent. The rock walls were fascinating, there were so many different colors that were imprinted in the canyon over time. The sunlight beams are the important part of the canyon, you must visit at the right time to get the right pictures. Knowing that I was going to be visiting a place full of color, I wanted to have an achromatic look that allowed the background to shine. For this reason I chose to wear a cream wool sweater and cream wool pants topped with my Baum Und Pferdgarten blue patent double breasted jacket. The light cream color allowed for Antelope Canyon to be the main focus while I am engulfed by its natural color palette.

I really enjoyed my time in Phoenix, it’s a cool city in the desert. Cactus, greenery and mountains are all around no matter where you look. On my birthday I visited Piestewa Peak, one of the state parks. The blue sky off of the mountain top along with the cactus and greenery everywhere was the exact look I was hoping to get while in Phoenix. The floral printed turtleneck top and high waist olive pants paired with the white boots blended in with nature while my boots stood out.

If you’re planning to visit Arizona I would highly recommend stopping by Phoenix, Sedona & Antelope Canyon. You will have a great experience and have the chance to revel in all of nature’s beauty.
